Why Lubrication ?

In today’s Civilisation Machine are the instruments in development and are very important aspects of industries world over.  Lubrication plays an important part in maintenance of plant and machinery, increasing the machine productivity and life. Lubrication can be considered as the food and water, for machines, as we can do without food and water, for a very minimum time, so also the machine requires it’s lubrication for survival of it’s parts in proper quantity and regular intervals.

The old method of employing personnel to lubricate all parts of the machine has its disadvantages, like it needs to employ special trained personnel, there is wastage of precious petroleum products (Oil or Grease), Machine has to be stopped so that lubrication is done, thereby causing loss of machine time and man-hours and many other.   Centralised lubrication systems eliminate all problems caused and make it easier for the lubrication work.  We can say that it is a process or method wherein the machines are lubricated with ‘Minimum efforts, Maximum results’.

GREASE LUBRICATION SYSTEM.

Systematrix Engg. Services., manufactures centralised lubrication system, to supply lubricant (oil or grease)in even metered quantity ,irrespective of pipelines and back- pressure to all points in a machine or plant through a single point, of a distributor block, situated at a convenient assessable position driven by means of a simple grease gun, or their special high pressure lubrication pump or any hydraulic line of pump.

OIL LUBRICATION SYSTEMS

Oil lubrication is widely used in all types of machinery, and the basic types of lubrication are

Re circulating Oil system: Are used in machinery wherein, the oil is used by the parts and the oil collected and re circulated using a pump.  The common type of  application are the enclosed gear boxes, however, for gears which are not enclosed spraying of oil is desired.
There are types of systems which require many parts to be lubricated continuously, here use of progressive distributors are used to ensure that all parts of the machine get the lubricant in equal amount.

Single shot lubrication: Majority of machines require small doses of oil to various parts of the machine. In this system a small power pack called the lubricating pump which runs on electric supply/Manual or pneumatic drive is used. Here, the use of metering cartridges (sometimes called 'injectors') allows a maximum no of points to be lubricated in a very small systematic manner, so that lubrication is achieved regularly in small quantities and with better frequency, thereby optimum usage of lubricant is achieved, thus no spillage of oils, and the frequent lubrication ensures better life than conventional manual lubrication.

We have developed injectors/metering cartridges which not only perform better, but also indicate when the injectors are in operation, without the removal of pipes and cumbersome methods. Unlike other injectors our metering cartridges are made such that the flow of each injector can be controlled and a range upto 0.4 cc can be achieved on single point thereby adjusting the flow as per the requirement is possible.

MIST LUBRICATION SYSTEMS

For Gears and high rotational parts it is desired to lubricate and cool the lubricating parts and more area to be covered by the lubricant hence, oil or grease along with air is used to lubricate and cool the parts, this is achieved by the air + oil mix, spraying of oil or grease to the parts and others such methods, nozzles wherein only when there is proper lubricant and air supply is made to eliminate any error or excess of  oil to the lubricating point.

LUBRICATION PUMPS & GREASE GUNS

Systematrix Engg. Services manufactures, high lubrication Pump for oil and grease application. There are available in hand, Pneumatic, hydraulic and motorised drive. The container is made of metal so that there is no breakage, provided with a tell- tale rod for easy monitoring of the lubricant quantity in the container, which is duly machined and spring loaded for easy suction of even  high viscosity greases. The pressure rating is 3500 psi, thereby making it possible to grease even high back- pressure points with ease. 
 
It is better to have high pressure pumps for grease whereas low pressure pumps work better in oil.   In conjunction with distributor blocks it is possible to grease number of points with a single point pump or if upto 8 points are to be lubricated a single 8 outlet high pressure pump can also be used. These pumps work independently or in conjunction with the progressive type systems, multi line systems, dual line systems or single line systems as the requirement may be.  Proper type of pump with the flow is necessary for the proper working of the system.                                     
 
GREASE GUN 
Grease Guns are a common type of pump and most portable and adaptable.  Grease Guns are generally manual, but pneumatic grease guns make the greasing much easier, moreover, the real problem is that the grease leaks from the side of conventional grease gun nipple adapter, we provide special solutions to these problesms 
These pumps work in conjunction with the distributor block to give lubrication to a number of points from a single grease nipple with ease.

PNEUMATIC MINI BARREL PUMP

This is an automatic Operational Air driven Pump. There is a telescopic shaft which is put in lubricant container and once air is given the pump starts and the piston in the cylinder moves up and down, due to which the lubricant is given out.  The flow can be made to stop by the stopping the flow of air. Hence, this pump can be used in intervals by using a Timer and Solenoid Valve to 'ON' and 'OFF' the pump. 
 
For Grease a follower plate is required and a spring helps for suction of the grease, however, for oil this is not required. The length of the shaft is dependent on the height of the container on which the pump is mounted. The air pressure required to operate the pump is minimum 3 kg/cm3 and max 12 kg/cm3. The ratio of air to lubricant is 1: 25 i.e. if the air is say 5 kg/cm3 then the lubricant pressure (under Stress) will be 125 kg/cm3 hence this will flush out any contamination if present in the system 
 
This pump is widely used to transfer lubricant and also for systems where the lubricating points is large in number. These pumps find application in all types of machines, and equipment and also in garages for lubrication of vehicles. The flow can be adjusted by adjusting the flow of air .The supply of air has to be through a Filter and Lubricator, so that dirt, moisture etc. do not enter the pump and the pump works for a long life.

METERING DEVICES

Lubrication systems consists of Pump, Metering Devices, Fittings, Piping and it's accessories. Metering device is a instrument where in the lubricant is distributed as regards to flow as per the requirement, without this device lubricant will flow in an haphazard manner, and lubrication  to the desired points cannot be achieved, these devices make lubrication easier, and controls the flow, ensuring proper lubrication to all point of a machine.

Depending on number of factors the type of metering device is decided.

THE PROGRESSIVE DISTRIBUTOR

This is the lone metering device which does not require special pumps to operate it, a simple grease gun can also operate the distributor block, which makes it the most adaptable and economical system available. This device can be used for both oil as well as grease distribution with ease. It's self monitoring feature make it easier to locate when the system does not work, thereby making maintenance easier.

THE DUAL LINE DISTRIBUTOR

This distributor system works with a special pump which has two line wherein, when one line starts, pressure is developed and changed to other line manually or automatically by use of our specially designed change over valve, once the preset pressure is achieved, this automatic feature has made the system popular with machines which has lubrication points far away from each other. The common examples are conveyors, overhead cranes, steel industries etc.

INJECTORS

These are used to lubricated oil and grease where piping can be done in line and hence simple, the injectors for grease and oil are different .The injectors for oil are low pressure and that of grease are high pressure. We have developed oil injectors which have a indication and flow control and also separate injectors for grease have been developed.

Special devices as per requirement is developed to fulfill all customer needs.

DUAL LINE SYSTEMS & MULTI LINE SYSTEMS

When there are no of points in a machine which require to be lubricated the options are to have a centralized lubrication system which may be a

  • Radial pump
  • Pump with Progressive Type system
  • Pump with Dual line System
  • Mist lubrication /Spray system
  • Single point lubricator

Dual line systems are used for plants and equipment generally where the points between each other is large.  This system makes it possible for parallel installation.  These systems have their applications compared to the progressive type system. The difference apart from this being a parallel line installation is that it requires change over valves to change the flow of lubricant from one line to other.  However, individual flows can be adjusted for each point in this system.
